Hi David,

Thanks for the insightful comment, lots of good stuff in what you say.

Heard a recommendation for the new Kodak competitor to the flip, it's supposed to do HD for a reasonable cost.

Think I'll check it out.

Hi David,

i read your articles at selfgrowth.com that got me here, and somewhere along the line a lightbulb went off in my head... i think it was your statistic about how so many videos get shared -- i think it was 50% of people will share a video or something.

so i thought to myself, why are they so motivated to share it?

i realize they do that because its funny or bizarre, but the aha! was i realized that another big reason they would do that, which is easier to control for marketing, is because you are offering something really VALUABLE in the video that is related to the content of what youre promoting.

so in terms of your list of video types above, for ex, "training" videos... if i was to offer an excerpt of a training video, or make up a training video that shows HOW TO do something of interest to that market, if its really good and useful, then i suspect that would get shared... also people would tell others about it. thats what i have done with friends, is share the video LINK via email, eg youtube.

as you say, it doesnt have to be live, it can be a screen capture video done on the computer... that said tho, a FLIP camera etc have gotten so cheap, especially if you get an older model. unless youre going out and doing live on location shooting, you can buy one with 1 hour recording and it will work fine at home... or get a high-end web cam.

thanks david for an enlightening moment, cheers, david r :)
